Made for Shade was built during a workshop led by Studio North, a hands-on workshop in which students take a simple building project from concept to finished product in one week. The mobile structure is a custom-designed, wooden structure that offers shading, seating, and storage to the farmers of the Island Grown Initiative farmlands of Martha’s Vineyard Island. Attached to a trailer, the structure is intended to move with the volunteer farmers throughout the summer to provide shade and carry tools.
